Hello Students and Parents,
Tech Savvy Youth will be running multiple events over the Summer of 2023 with opportunities for students to win PRIZES (yes, even gift cards).
Please see below for the different events that we will be running. Participation in events may qualify you for future scholarships based on merit.
FAA Airport Design Challenge (K-12th Grade)
Online
TSY will be facilitating teams in order to compete in the FAA ADC. This is an excellent competition that I myself have participated in.
Small teams of students work together to learn about their local airport and to complete development tasks in Minecraft. Organized lesson plans covering topics from airport layout, pavement, lighting, structures, and innovative growth. Knowledge check assignments, which will be turned in accompanied by screen shots of student progress. Collaborative work between students, parents, and teachers performed in a virtual environment. STEM based applied knowledge in math, engineering, and career development.
There will be 2 divisions
- K-6th Grades
- 7th-12th Grades
with 2 categories
- Primary Airport
- Non-primary Airport
You do not have to pay anything to participate in this competition. Teams will be organized on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional teams may be added if there is enough interest.

Hacktivate 2023, Organized by Tech Savvy Youth
Online
Tech Savvy Youth will be hosting an online Hackathon, Hacktivate 2023. There will be numerous opportunities to win prizes. The contest will consist of two portions, one individual and one team (3-5 people). In the individual portion, participants will attempt to answer a number of programming questions within a fixed time limit. In the team portion, participants will create an original project based on a prompt, to be judged by our panel of judges.

Tech Savvy Youth 2023 Summer Workshops
Online
FREE upon completion of Homework (Parents you will loooooooooooooooooove this)
TSY is offering a number of new online Summer Workshops! Workshops will be held online twice a week for 4 weeks during July 2023, and each session will last for 90 minutes. Registration will cost $15, but a FULL refund (minus transaction fees) will be available upon 100% completion of homework by the start of the final day of the session.
